Railway control, navigation and safety increasing system ISD-02 was developed by the order of Oktyabrskaya railway administration. ISD-02 is intended for installation on locomotives and in composition with information complex "SPUTNIK" is called for solving problems of railway traffic safety increasing and optimization of railway traffic management.

 

   Problems, solving by ISD-02 system:

Finding train position in railway coordinates system (km, picket, displacement in picket) without additional railway devices.

Determination of actual train speed and covered distance by means of combining information from three-axis accelerometer, wheel angular speed sensors and GPS receiver of "GLONASS/NAVSTAR" systems.

Measurement of locomotive and train acceleration (braking).

Measurement of pressure in pressure, brake, levelling lines and in brake cylinders for maintenance of the decision about required restriction of speed and braking.

Determination of traffic light color by rail circuit electric signals (ALS).

Record of locomotive status parameters and movement characteristics in the nonvolatile flash-memory.

Ensuring of a safe train driving for the account of:

storage in an electronic route map of all constant and temporary speed restrictions;

control of fulfillment by engine-driver of high-speed restrictions and blocking of his incorrect actions at attempt of infringement of a train driving mode;

providing an engine-driver with the information, which helps him in more effective driving of the train;

prevention of trains collision for the exchange between them with the information on movement parameters through the digital radiochannel.

  ISD-02 system structure

The ISD-02 is a two-channel system with the information interchange between cyclically doing tasks of each channel. Moreover, in each channel the responsible tasks do twice by two different programs.

In the ISD-02 system are used sensors:

Reception coils of a rail circuit signals (ALS);

Wheel angular speed sensors (for diesel locomotive "TEP-70" tachometers, located on axes of wheels are used);

Three-axis accelerometer;

Block of pressure measurement in pressure, brake, leveling lines and in brake cylinders;

GPS receiver of GLONASS/NAVSTAR systems.

As digital radiostation is used a digital-to-analog radiostation "ALPHA-B" of Russian production, working in a range of frequencies 148 -173 MHz with the digital information transfer speed 10 Kbps.

The engine-driver's information board is carried out portable . The operative information, necessary for train driving, is displayed on luminescent display.

Engine-driver is provided with the information:

about a train position in railway coordinates system (km, picket) in every moment and a locomotive speed (±0,5 km/h);

about the nearest on the route speed restrictions (three nearest restrictions) and recommended braking mode;

about a vertical profile of the route for 1km back and 0,5 kms ahead from the locomotive (per mil);

about a position and movement parameters of a nearest train ahead on the route;

about a route established for the train on the nearest station.

ISD-02 system is constructed on base of serially produced and specialized electronic modules, developed by GRANIT-VT. The modules, carried out in avionic-type cassette construction ARINC600, board size - 170x240 mm, placed in an safe-type electrocase, access to which has the limited number of the personal.
