The basic principles of our technical policy |
During the long years of special control engineering developments the GRANIT-VT staff gained wide experience in development of computing boards, devices and control systems, intended for mobile objects control in real time and hard environments (climatic and mechanical factors). Basic production, offered by GRANIT-VT, and first of all, the leading line of computing and peripheral boards, is intended just for this segment of the market. The sphere of application dictates the basic technical principles, which is necessary to follow at development of high reliable equipment for responsible applications, and which are the basis of GRANIT-VT technical policy:
Orientation on the industrial standards in general computing architecture, internal and external interfaces, design decisions, test equipment. |

Openness of the technical decisions, that means an opportunity, if necessary, of putting in customer's disposal of all required technical information (electrical and design documentation, texts of built-in software operational and test programs of GRANIT-VT development). Openness of the documentation allows the user to carry out certification of final production. |

Use of electronic components, satisfying operational conditions of the final equipment. As a rule, those are components, fulfilled in Industrial version, in extended temperature version, and in some reasonable cases - components, carried out in military version. |

Long-life support of reproduction (opportunity of output of the identical equipment during the long time of systems' operation ). Such support is based on primary use of components, having long-life support of the manufacturer or being, in fact, the industrial standard and produced by several manufacturers. |

Power consumption minimization at the expense of mainly micropowerful components, gradual transition to lowered levels of the power supply voltage, in-board formation non-standard nominal values of the power supply voltages. |

Ensuring of guaranteed heat removal by use of heat-conducting pastes, continuous metallized layers in multy-layer printed-circuit-boards, conductive heat removal on a system rack if necessary. |

Use of moisture-protective coating on a basis of poliparaxillilen, ensuring absence of "air gaps" under SMD-components, and, as a consequence, absence of an open condensate on a surface of the printed-circuit-board and components at temperature cycle tests (thermocycling). |

Use of the technical decisions, guaranteeing required stability to mechanical factors - use, mostly, of light-weight SMD-components, fastening of components if necessary, absence of mechanically unstable elements (component sockets, mechanical switches, jumpers, additional mechanical connectors, etc). |

Use of maintainable technologies, ensuring long-life guarantee and post-guarantee of service. |

Individual approach to the built-in system and functional software: an opportunity of specialized program complexes development for responsible time-critical applications in real time control systems, ensuring restartability of computing process at short-term power supply faults and functional failures with saving of integrated parameters; an opportunity of development of minimum software for ensuring of functional tasks programming in a high level language; compatibility with universal Real Time Operating Systems as VxWorks, QNX and others, confirmed by experimental works. |
Following these principles allows us to develop and supply highly reliable, open electronic engineering with long-life support (so micro-computer Credo-486 was supplied for 5 years), to carry out scheduled products line modernization with the maximum preservation of continuity (so, for example, the replacement of boards Credo-486 and BR1-1-2 for pin-compatible boards Credo-M and Obraz-M can be made without changes in cassette constructions of the customer with the minimum modification of the software for extended characteristics of new boards), to expand a spectrum of the offered decisions.
Actively using commercial built-in boards of other manufacturers for the technological, test and auxiliary purposes, we never offer to our consumers the technical decisions for responsible applications, based on cheap commercial components, as they do not correspond to stated above principles and cannot form the basis for developing highly reliable systems.
